Course Description:

To make LUV RUN as logistically simple and fun as possible, we have moved the start and finish line over to the American Legion Marsh Post across the Charles River. It is approximately ½ mile from the original location at Artesani Park. Look for signs and the large tent just over the Eliot Bridge!

2014 LUV RUN Boston Runners Guide

Since the LUV RUN is all about making connections, you are encouraged to slow down and enjoy the crowd! We will provide special “stops” along the way to help break the ice, so don’t expect to run your best time. In fact, you may even have to run backwards at times!

Since the trails around DCR Artesani Park are only so wide, we are limited to sending waves of 300 off at a time. You will receive your wave assignment when you check in. Please don’t switch waves without permission – we have specific restrictions in our permit.  Don’t stress, there will be plenty of opportunities to mingle with other waves of runners at the post-run party!

There is no timing, so speed doesn’t matter. If you finish the 5k in less than 25 minutes, you are going too fast! Slow down and enjoy the experience of being in a beautiful place surrounded by motivated, fit people.

Water Stations:

There will be water stations positioned approximately every mile. But these won’t be your run-of-the-mill stations! Be prepared for special tasks and surprises along the way that will help you meet the people around you.

Parking:

The American Legion Marsh Post is located at 5 Greenough Blvd in Cambridge. However, there is limited parking nearby, so we recommend parking on the Boston side of the Charles River and walking over the Eliot Bridge to the Post.

There are a number of options for parking. The closest lots are along the river on the Boston side. You can access them from Soldier’s Field Road, heading westbound. There are many spots in the Harvard Athletic Complex, which is about a mile away (great warm up!). Please look for the visitor spots (metered). There is also parking in lots on Greenough Blvd in Cambridge.

The closest T-station is at Harvard Square on the Red Line. From there you can take the 71 or 73 bus to Mt Auburn Street @ Sparks Street, then walk approximately 1/4 mile to the American Legion Marsh Post location.

LUV RUN Party

Keep the connections going after the run wraps up. Head over the official LUV RUN party! There will be date package give-aways, raffles, and fun games!

Schedule

Bib pick up will be from 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM on Friday, May 16 at DCR Artesani Park.

Wave 1 will start at 6:00 PM. Waves will go off every 10 minutes.

LUV RUN Party will start at 6:30 PM and go until 9:00 PM

The LUV RUN Boston will support Universal Access, a DCR program dedicated to encouraging use of the beautiful parks by persons with disabilities.
